1 +1 or 2-1?

Soci journal articles are so different from science articles! Reading the abstract makes me think that i will be embarking on a romance novel...but things turn out to be quite different, more like reading an foreign book now.

Seriously, i dont understand why for simple concept of marriage and divorce, people can write it until very chim! I even saw integation and differentiation formula inside one of the articles! Can math really explain love? hmm? This reminds me of the song 我不是数学家, with the lyrics of:

Seriously, isnt marriage just 1 +1 ? And divorce just 2-1? why is there integrationnnnnn and differentiation?????????? grrrrrrrrr!!!! i feel that they just like to complicate stuff!
